Value of Dunhill G.M.T. Fountain Pen

Hello-

My grandfather gave me this pen that he received in a golf tournament and I am interested in selling it to a pen collector but I need to find out what the value is... It is an Alfred Dunhill pen and it came with a certificate of authenticity. I found in my research that it is one of 1300 made... the G.M.T Fountain Pen. I attached 2 images, I hope they help!

Thanks!

Genelle

Fwiw, I have seen these sell from US$300 - 350 on ebay. This includes the pen, papers, box and a "Longitude" book that apparently was sold as part of the package. YMMV.

I think that it cost at least $700 10 years ago when the $ was not weak.

So it would cost probably more than $1000 in shop today if it was still sold by Dunhill.

Can someone confirm ?

My bad, I guess. The picture in the post is not the clearest, however, it did say "I found in my research that it is one of 1300 made.". Thus, based on appearance and that statement, I concluded it was the Longitude.

Yeah, I think he was slightly confused as to which one he has got too.

If you look at his, you can see the names of cities and countries on it. One can adjust the bezel to determine the adjustment to/from GMT. Also, G.M.T. is stamped on the lining of his box.

The Longitudes have a series of bezels on the body of the pen, making a perpetual calendar.

They are part of the same commemorative line, just different models. They are both good pens.

Thank you everyone for helping me learn more about this pen! Someone asked me about the serial number and these are all of the numbers I found on the pen/box: On the nib it says: Dunhill, M, 18k-750. And the pen is

number 1769 of 1884. Underneath the box it says the

registered number is: 191031

Hope this helps!

I have the pen up for auction on Ebay if anyone wants to check it out:

Thanks!

Well, based on that auction, it looks like the value is south of $199. I'd recommend trying it again with a lower starting price and no reserve.
