Thanks much for the good review! This ink looks very pretty. Be nice if it were available locally.

May you have pens you enjoy, with plenty of paper and ink. :)

Please use only my FPN name "Gran" in your posts. Thanks very much!

Thank you!

I think Pendemonium had a batch some time ago. Not sure if they have any now.

I got mine in India while on vacation.

Any chance you can post some comparison photos with a more common ink to give us an idea how close the photo is to actual color? Can you comment on how close the photo is to the actual color? TIA, Michael

I've compared to the ink samples I have. Hope it helps.

The real thing is slightly purpler than the scan as it shows on my screen. But pretty vibrant. Very well behaved, dries quickly, and produces some nice shading, even with my very wet Pelikan M605 Medium. Has become my daily ink.

Attaching a slightly better scan without the shadow from a folded page.

Attached is another comparison of Camel ink but with BSB.

Oh well, similar in tone but far from the BSB saturation... the search continues....

Rs 12.00 in Calcutta on 08 Dec 2009 , that's 1/4th of an US Dollar  for a 60ml glass bottle . I gave up on parker Quink here cause it's was Rs 20 for 60ml , now gone

Rs 25.00 for 30ml and worse is it fades pretty badly over the years .

Camel Royal Blue is a wonderful blue -- and I'm not partial to blue! I picked up a couple bottles when Pendemomium had it. Wish I would have gotten more.

Camel Ink, manufactured by Camlin Ltd. is a very popular ink here in India. I have used it throughout my school life and still use it as regularly.

It would be nice if Camel starts offering more colours, presently they offer four (blue, black, red and green).

Bril is another nice company, prevalent in southern india, which has a wider range of colours( the four basic ones plus violet, blue-black, turquoise and laurel rose)

edit: Camlin also offers the purple colour, let me see if I can find one of those.
